Possible Rounds 1-3

    Notes
  • Stock is Rising : An impressive Senior Bowl week and Combine have helped solidify Bullocks as a Day 1 prospect.
  • 04/28 - PackersNews.com: #5 S - Three-year starter who finished his career with 22 pass breakups and eight interceptions. Helped himself tremendously by blazing the 40 in 4.38 seconds at the scouting combine. Has some toughness and OK size, but is a little stiff in coverage and didn’t play as fast as his 40 time suggests. "He’s a good player," a scout said. "He ran incredibly fast at the combine, so he’ll go high. I don’t think (he’s as good as his brother). They like him better at the school, that’s because one stayed (last year) and one left. As a pro prospect it’s close, he’ll go around the same. People are intoxicated by speed, and he ran a 4.38."
  • 04/28 - Florida Today: #5 S - One of those guys who always seems to be around the ball. He'll be a special-teams ace early in his career. Has good size and athletic ability. Loves to throw his body around to make plays. But he's not great in coverage. Twin brother, Josh, was taken in the second round by New Orleans last season.
  • 04/27- Patriots.com: #7 DB – Another complete safety who can come in and contribute as a rookie. Tough player who causes a lot of havoc when he’s lined up close to the line of scrimmage. A great blitzer who lives in the opponent’s backfield. Doesn’t have the coverage skills that Huff and Whitner posses but got a lot of interceptions on tipped balls, which means he’s always near the play. A physical player who is also an asset on special teams. Should be a steal for some team in the second or third round.
  • 04/22 - NFLDraftScout.com: Nebraska safety Daniel Bullocks remains one of the draft's more underrated prospects and could be the surprise selection of the first round. Should a run on defensive backs occur throughout the last fifteen picks of the first round, as projected, Bullocks could be an option for either Seattle (31) or Pittsburgh (32).
  • Participated in the 2006 Senior Bowl
  • ESPN 1/28: Very fluid, athletic and tough. Good player. Round 2.
  • NFLDraftExperts.com: Pros- Solid run defending safety best covering the pass in zone. Picks up assignments, patrols center field and gets vertical to defend the ball. Displays a sense of timing and anticipation. Possesses a burst to the action. Works well with quarterbacks. Wraps up in run support.
Neg- Struggles in man-to-man coverage and not quick transitioning. Marginally effective on the blitz. Tends to gather into tackles.
Analysis- A potential two deep zone safety, Bullocks offers solid skills for the next level. Not as polished or versatile as his brother yet a solid middle frame pick next April.
