    Notes
  • Stock is Up : Stock Skyrocketed after an impressive combine
  • Declared early for the 2005 NFL Draft; Invited to 2005 NFL Combine.
  • CollegeFootballNews.com - "Washington is leaving a bit early, but word is he needs money for his family. He'll get drafted and should be gone without a problem on the first day. The top ball-hawker could quickly shoot up the charts with a big combine. Even though he's not huge, he has good size and is an excellent tackler."
  • From Mel Kiper mock draft: 1/18 Minnesota - Fabian Washington CB: Washington was the talk of the combine after running the 40 in 4.28 seconds, and his speed and athleticism are just what the Vikings need in a secondary that struggled against top wideouts and quarterbacks last season.
  • Mel Kiper 'Big Board': "Wowed plenty of scouts with his 4.28 time at the combine. Washington was a 3-year starter at Nebraska who made a big splash as a freshman and leveled off somewhat as a junior. But his experience against top-shelf competition is a major plus. He also has tremendous leaping ability and size/speed ratio, placing him squarely in the mid-to-late first round."
  • Pro Day report from Gil Brandt of NFL.com: CB Fabian Washington wowed scouts at the combine by running for times of 4.29 and 4.31 in the 40, and had a 41½-inch vertical jump. That's very good. We will put up his workout results in the near future.
  • Pro Day report from KFFL: "...absolutely wowed scouts by running 4.29 and 4.31 40 times at the combine. His 41.5-inch vertical jump was also outstanding. Washington's Pro Day numbers were not available at publishing time. He could be drafted as high as the first round, but is more likely a second rounder."
  • Vic Ketchman, jaguars.com senior editor: Washington, 5-10, 188, went beep-beep at the combine. Washington ran a sub-4.3 and, as a result, has pushed his way into the bottom of round one. He's an excellent cover-corner who reported to the combine 10 pounds heavier than normal, but that certainly didn't hurt his workout. The combination of size and speed have him on the rise.
  • SI's Don Banks: 5 Rising
