    Comments

  • Teams in need of a punter (Rocky Mountain News): New York Jets, Cleveland, Kansas City, Detroit, Green Bay, San Francisco.
  • 4/21 Rocky Mountain News: Kyle Larson Nebraska 6-0 204 One of the strongest, most accurate punters in college; will continue to improve.
  • 4/21 Fox Sports: Kyle Larson; Nebraska, 6-0, 204. Uses excellent directional skills and hang time to pin opponents deep. Has good leg strength, solid mechanics and soft hands. Must be quicker in his approach; too many of his punts were blocked.
  • 4/21 Florida Today: Kyle Larson, Nebraska (6-0, 207). He was a finalist for the Ray Guy Award. Not bad for a walk-on. Of course, averaging 45.1 yards a punt and placing 22 balls inside the 20 will get you noticed. Gets good hang time, but needs to get rid of the ball faster. Had five punts blocked in his career.
  • 4/19 Vic Ketchman, for Jaguars.com: Three punters could be drafted. That list is headed by Kyle Larson, 6-0, 204, of Nebraska. A three-year man, Larson averaged 45.1 yards per punt on 66 punts last year, with a long of 80 yards. He “killed” 22 of his punts inside the 20-yard line. Larson offers great hang time, gets the ball up quickly and is good at handling poor snaps, but he's a marginal directional punter and had five punts blocked in the last three years.
  • Invited to the 2004 Indianapolis Combine.
  • 1/24 Senior Bowl Stats: North P Kyle Larson 6 Punts, 264 yards; 44.0 avg; long of 48.
  • 1/19 ESPN's Senior Bowl notes: Nebraska PT Kyle Larson has the wind to blame for some of his problems, but the bottom line is that he struggled mightily on his 15 attempts in practice. Larson did seem to get into a rhythm on his last three punts, but 10 of his first 12 punts went no more than 35 yards. Larson needs to bounce back with a strong performance the next couple of days to prove that he just wasn't loose and that the wind was playing a bigger role in his struggles than scouts thought today.
  • Larson will participate in the 2004 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama (P, 19)
