- [Phillip Dillard] Blog: Nice job by LB Phillip Dillard to blow up a running play in the backfield. Dillard is flying around to the ball out there and while he continues to have trouble with play action, that’s all just a matter of the game slowing down for hi before he’s able to time things better.
- NJ.com and SNY Twitter: "One practice highlight I forgot to mention earlier was when Phillip Dillard made a stop in the backfield + got Fewell all fired up."
- WFAN Twitter: Goff ran with first team at MLB and Dillard with second team.
- [Larry Asante] Scout.com: Knocking down a pass on a similar type of blitz was rookie safety Larry Asante. Keep an eye on this kid. He played at Nebraska for head coach Bo Pelini, the former Youngstown (Ohio) Cardinal Mooney High School and Ohio State star defensive back, and one-time Browns public relations intern in 1993. So he got some excellent college coaching and is more ready for the pros than most rookie DBs.
- Asante batted down quarterback Jake Delhomme's throw near the line of scrimmage, prompting a teammate to yell, ''Get that [bleep] out of here.'' Ward later intercepted a pass from Delhomme. (Ohio.com)

The gregarious and extremely loud Polk has been missed during practices and in the locker room. Philip Rivers at least once tried to draw Polk into some banter, the way they used to do as teammates, but at least for today Polk was all business.(SignOnSanDiego.com)

- [Ahman Green] Green returned in the middle of last season to back up Ryan Grant and in the process broke the Packers' all-time record for rushing yards. It was a nice going-away present for Green, an unrestricted free agent who still lives in the area and was hoping to receive a call from the Packers. His cell phone most likely won’t ring after Thompson drafted running back James Starks. Mike Vandermaus, Green Bay Press Gazette

- [Zach Potter] Jaguars TE Zach Potter almost made a great impression hauling in a difficult grab deep over the middle from Trevor Harris in traffic. He had Courtney Greene tight in coverage, and was able to make the catch. Unfortunately, Greene batted the ball away a few steps later, forcing a fumble.
(In 11x11 drills) Potter showed the ability to find a hole in coverage, slipping into the seam and finding a gap in the zone. McCown found him and turned it into a big gain with a well delivered pass splitting the defenders. (SportsNewsAndScores.com)
