- [Denver Broncos] Blog: Sayre Bedinger of BleacherReport- At the end of practice, the Broncos had a little bit of fun with punt returns.
Nose tackle Chris Baker fielded a punt that saved the defense from extra meetings, and fellow undrafted rookie Nate Swift, a wide receiver, caught a punt while already holding onto three balls he had previously fielded.
- [St. Louis Rams] Pete Prisco of CBS Sports placed Rams G Richie Incognito on a list of the NFL's nasty but good players: "He's a candidate for the league's dirtiest player. He goes nuts on the field, too much in fact. But he insists he will be calmer this season. When he's focused, he can be a good player."

Vic: I like him. He goes up high after the ball and when he gets his hands on it, he catches it clean. I like all of the Jaguars’ young receivers. I think the scouting department really did some good work at that position.

- [New England Patriots] From Paul Perillo of the Patriots.com Blog: "I also talked to free agent wide receiver Terrence Nunnn after practice. Nunn was out of football last year after concluding a pretty productive career at Nebraska. He never got any calls for tryouts or to sign a rookie free agent contract last summer. He was working in a Houston area gym this spring when (Director of Player Personnel) Nick Caserio called to bring him in for a workout that led to his signing with New England. He doesn’t have the answer to how he slipped through the cracks a year ago. I just don’t get it. It’s a weird story, or lack of a story. I’m pulling for him to make the practice squad." Audio

- [Washington Redskins] Gary Fitzgerald of Redskins.com answered a fan's question regarding Joe Ganz' chances to make the team:
"For Ganz to earn a free agent contract with the Redskins, he needed to outshine Chase Daniel during mini-camp. It didn’t happen. Ganz and Daniel are similar in that they are about 6-0 in height, short by NFL quarterback standards. Ganz played in a version of the West Coast offense while Daniel played in a spread offense. Daniel projects as the better NFL quarterback given his package of arm strength, accuracy and field vision. Both Daniel and Ganz are developmental players and they have a long way to go before they are ready for NFL playing time."

Brendan in Toronto asked, "Who was the most annoying player you ever played with?"
Sapp replied, "Richie Incognito from the Rams".

- [San Francisco 49ers] BleacherReport Blog: On 49ers OLB depth: ...Jay Moore, former Nebraska defensive end and 2007 fourth round (104th overall) draft pick of the 49ers. Moore, who turned heads in his rookie training camp for his impressive pass-rush ability, has been the victim of nagging injuries and a crowded depth chart in his first two seasons.
In 2007 he received a relatively severe high ankle sprain, which landed him on Injured Reserve before his rookie season even began. Similar misfortune struck Moore once again in 2008, tearing his bicep in the final preseason game against the San Diego chargers, a mishap which once again landed him on IR.
Although certainly legitimate injuries, they were by no means of season ending severity (ankle sprain especially), leaving reason to believe the 49ers benefited by maintaining the rights to his services without using up a spot on their 53-man roster.

- [New York Jets] Jets head coach Rex Ryan on Minicamp, Day 2:
--On if anyone jumped out at Coach Ryan today…
"I spent some time with the offensive line today. Bill Callahan jumped out at me today (laughter). What a great teacher he is. I like some of the guys down there. I saw our big draft choice, the kid from Nebraska (Matt Slauson). I was reading a bio on him the other day; I guess he was All-Conference for three years. That is saying something out there. He is a big man. A normal size person to me is 6-3, 280, I don’t think that is what it is out in the public, but you are around him and you’re like ‘How big is that kid?’ He is like 6-9, 350. Are you kidding me (laughs)?
It was good to watch them really work. That offensive line is so much of your character as a football team. I love the way Callahan coaches. He is a tough guy and he really makes those guys work. They are not just eating the grass, they are really working out there."
--On Coach Ryan’s interaction with Matt Slauson…
"I watched some tape on him. I have not really sat down and talked to the young man. You can tell he is a good worker. Bill obviously had him in Nebraska and he is really familiar with him. That is good enough for me." (Newsday)

--11-on-11 Drills: LB Cody Glenn fought off a block to get in position for a tackle on Ladell Betts.
--Dodge Ball Drill: Jim Zorn’s wacky drills make their return: it’s Dodge Ball with Redskins quarterbacks. Basically, a quarterback stands in a circle and his fellow QBs throw giant rubber balls at him. The drill tests the quarterback’s mobility in the pocket.
Colt Brennan showed some good movement in avoiding the dodge balls--only one of Jason Campbell’s tosses struck him lightly. Undrafted rookie Chase Daniel appeared to struggle at the drill. He was hit three times, twice in the back and once on the right leg. Tryout QB Joe Ganz did fine until Campbell’s throw nailed him on the shoulder. Even Todd Collins got hit several times, so it wasn’t just an issue of experience. Try as they might, the backup quarterbacks could not touch Campbell with a dodge ball. He showed great movement and even maintained proper footwork. (Redskins.com)
- I watched a bit more of the quarterbacks this afternoon, so that I could offer an analysis that was a bit more cogent than "Chase Daniels isn't as tall as I thought." In a drill...which involved the quarterbacks dropping back, sometimes rolling out, and then trying to hit whichever square Coach Zorn called out, Jason Campbell probably looked the most impressive, at least by an unofficial count of "footballs into correct square". Second most accurate by my count was, somewhat surprisingly, Joe Ganz out of Nebraska, in on a tryout. (Matt Terl, Redskins.com Blog)
- [Denver Broncos] The Denver Post suggests that Correll Buckhalter could wind up as the "Chester Taylor to (Knowshon) Moreno's Adrian Peterson."
This is a poor analogy by the Post because Taylor takes virtually all of the third-down work in Minnesota and Moreno is an adept nickel player, but it indicates that there will be a timeshare. The Broncos didn't draft Moreno 12th overall to sit him, but Josh McDaniels has long favored a committee. May. 1 - 11:33 am et (RotoWorld, Denver Post)
