- [Arizona Cardinals] Cornerback Ralph Brown has battled for a roster spot in his two seasons with the team, but he has proven himself as the nickel corner. Brown assumed the job at mid-season when Eric Green began his slide down the depth chart, and Brown has excelled. He has three interceptions in his last three games, and as a nine-year veteran, he's been a valuable mentor to the younger defensive backs, such as rookie Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Brown is due to become an unrestricted free agent, but with the way he's playing, the team can ill afford to lose him. (Scout.com)

- [St. Louis Cardinals] Although he will be a restricted free agent who could easily be tendered, we hear the odds have dropped to 50-50 that the Rams will retain OG Richie Incognito. Word is the often-volatile Incognito might have hastened his departure from St. Louis when he sat out the regular-season finale with what interim head coach Jim Haslett considered a questionable injury. - [St. Louis Rams] 'Scoping out the 2009 Rams' from the St. Louis Dispatch:
OL: Richie Incognito didn't make any friends by opting out of the finale because of illness. Jim Haslett was so upset he slapped a candy bar out of Incognito's hands on the sideline. So guard could be added to a wish list that already includes tackle and center.
DL: First-rounders Chris Long and Adam Carriker need to step up in '09.
