Lydon Murtha ran a 4.89 in the Forty. Not only was he the only lineman to break the 5-second mark, he was the second fastest Forty time since the NFL began the Combine.
Murtha also ranked first among linemen in the 20-yard shuttle and 3-cone drill while finishing second in the vertical jump and third in the broad jump.
Matt Slauson finished 3rd in the vertical jump and tied Murtha for 3rd in the broad jump with 9'2". Slauson's performance was limited to only a couple events, he will run his Forty at Nebraska's Pro Day in March.

- [Philadelphia Eagles] The team source didn't rule out trying to sign Correll Buckhalter, who will be 31 next season, unless they can do better through free agency or the draft. Buckhalter has proved to be a capable replacement for Brian Westbrook, but the Eagles may opt to find a younger running back with pass-catching ability who can eventually succeed Westbrook. Westbrook will turn 30 in September and played through injuries during most of the 2008 season.

- [CFL] Offensive lineman Patrick Kabongo is back in town from NFL tryouts with the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions and Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers, but is expected to play out his option with the Eskimos. "As far as signing before the (Feb. 16 deadline) is concerned, I don't think it's going to happen," he said. "If I was a complete free agent I would have had more time to work on it. But I'm happy with where everything is at." (The Windsor Star)
According to the Edmonton Sun, the deadline passed with Kabongo left unsigned by an NFL club. He will return to the Eskimos next season.
