- [Philadelphia Eagles] The invisible man: It's as predictable as San Diego weather: Westbrook returns and Correll Buckhalter disappears.
Buckhalter had two carries and one pass thrown his way on the Eagles' second offensive series when Westbrook went into the locker room to have his fractured ribs examined. Buckhalter lost 3 yards on his first carry because of a botched blocking assignment by tackle Tra Thomas on Carter, and had no chance to catch a poorly thrown swing pass by McNabb. His final run of the day was a tough 3-yard carry.
After that series, Buckhalter disappeared. (Philly.com)

- [New Orleans Saints] Rookie OG Nicks looks like fifth-round steal
- [New Orleans Saints] Q&A with Jeff Duncan, The Times-Picayune:
Q: Why isn't anyone talking about the play of the rookie Carl Nicks? On Duece's first run he was a BIG part of moving that pile. I think No. 77 had a hell-fire day. John Lee.
A: Sean Payton was certainly talking about the play of Nicks this week. He had a lot of good things to say about the rookie, particularly about his pass blocking. Nicks also was solid as a run blocker. If you noticed, when the Saints needed a yard they ran to the left behind Nicks and Jammal Brown. I expect that strategy to continue. Nicks is a powerful wide body who looks like an eventual starting prospect. But I wouldn't get too carried away just yet. His real test will come this week when he matches up with Pro Bowler Kevin Williams and massive nose tackle Pat Williams.

- [New Orleans Saints] Head coach Sean Payton Press Conference: What did Carl Nicks do well in the game on Sunday?
“I think he was solid. He’s a big body and he’s strong and he’s powerful. He’s a tough guy to rush the passer against because he has nimble feet and gives you a good look at the point of attack. There were a couple of angles or hat-placement issues that we’ll have to clean up in the running game, but for a first time out, I thought he did real well.”
