- [Chicago Bears] Safety Mike Brown played in the first 66 games of his career. In the 66th game, Brown collided with Ahman Green on a blitz in September 2004 at Lambeau Field and suffered a torn Achilles' tendon. Foot and knee injuries limited him to just seven of 32 games in 2006 and '07. Brown has started all nine games this year, but scouts say he doesn't play close to his one-time 4.57-second speed in the 40-yard dash. "All those injuries have taken a toll on him," one scout said. "In a close, confined area he doesn't show his weaknesses. He plays really well close to the line. Against Green Bay, he'll probably have to go back because they have deep vertical threats. Brown and Kevin Payne are probably not a good mix. They play similar games. Payne should be close to the line, too." (JSOnline.com)
