- [All-Star Games]...the most impressive offensive lineman on Saturday was Nebraska OT Carl Nicks. The 343-pound Nicks showed excellent feet for a man that size as he slid easily about the pocket and showed good balance and change of direction skills. Nicks, who looks like he could also fit at the next level as a pulling OG, used his hands well and got a nice pop at the point of attack. (GreatBlueNorthDraft.com)

- [All-Star Games] Chuck Cook, Kansas City's director of college scouting, cited two Big 12 players who helped their draft stock considerably with the practice week leading up to the Senior Bowl (Kansas State All-America receiver Jordy Nelson and Nebraska tackle Carl Nicks).
Cook has been impressed by the showing of Nebraska tackle Carl Nicks, a massive 6-foot-5, 345-pound tackle who is still developing as a pro prospect.
"Carl Nicks really helped himself out in this game,'' Cook said. "He's a powerful guy who played well in college and has looked very physical here. This was a good move for him. (CJOnline.com)
- Former Husker offensive lineman Carl Nicks sure showed up big this week as he got ready for today’s Senior Bowl game in Mobile, Ala.
The left tackle weighed in at 343 pounds, the biggest player in the all-star game, which will be televised by the NFL Network at 3 p.m.
When asked in an ESPN live chat this week what impact former Husker head coach Bill Callahan had on his career, Nicks responded: “He had all the impact. If he didn’t give me the chance, I do not know if I would be here.” (Lincoln Journal Star)

- Another says he failed to distinguish himself
- [All-Star Games] NFLDraftWatch.wordpress.com Shrine Game recap: Keller lost a fumble, and needs to protect the ball better in the pocket, and his delivery is unconventional. That said, he put together a couple of nice drives, especially once he got into a rythm.
Bowman was plagued by injuries and inconsistent play, but if he can get back to his former self, someone’s getting a heck of a player. He played great this game, like he did before the injury.
Video Highlights of Huskers in the Hula Bowl and Shrine Game will be available soon.
