  • [NFL Combine] Adam Carriker from Nebraska put on quite a show, at 6' 6" 296 pounds, he had an excellent 4.87 second 40 yard dash, 7.06 second 3-cone drill, 33.5 vertical jump, but what was really amazing was his 4.18 second 20 yard shuttle run time. 300 pounders just don't move that fast.

  • [NFL Draft] The Rams need help at DE and could look to free agency or the draft. One possibility is Nebraska's Adam Carriker. Carriker is the best example of the every-down, all-around end. At 6-6, 296 pounds, he played over offensive tackles — on the tight end side — most of the time in college. Carriker had to do more of the dirty work at end, instead of just lining up on the edge and rushing the quarterback. He still had seven sacks and 12 quarterback pressures last season. With his size and strength (440-pound bench press), he may be better suited to playing end in a 3-4 front in the NFL. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)

  • [NFL Combine] During his NFL Combine interview, Nebraska DE Adam Carriker said he spoke with the Falcons, 49ers, and the Steelers.
Carriker measured a height of 6-6 and a weight of 296 pounds. During his interview, he was asked about playing inside in a 4-3 scheme. "A lot of teams like me as a 3-4 end, I'm that prototypical size. I'm obviously used to the 4-3 end, but the 4-3 3-technique is fine with me, too. I like being closer to the quarterback so that's perfectly fine." (KFFL)

  • [NFL Combine] During his NFL Combine interview, Nebraska RB Brandon Jackson said he spoke with the coaches from the Titans, Packers, Falcons, and Bears.
Jackson, who measured in at 5'11" with a weight of 210 lbs, discussed what he would bring to an NFL team. "They're going to get a very versatile back as far as catching the ball and running, a great blocker and a good special teams player." (KFFL)
Jackson, as well as QB Zac Taylor, will workout at the combine on Sunday on NFL Network. The workouts for defensive linemen (Jay Moore, Adam Carriker) and linebackers (Stewart Bradley) will be on Monday.
  • [NFL Europa] C Josh Sewell, who had retired from the Denver Broncos prior to the 2005 season, was selected in the 10th round by the Frankfurt Galaxy in the NFL Europa Free Agent Draft.
  • [NFL Combine] During his pre-workout press conference, Nebraska LB Stewart Bradley said he thinks he'll stand out to the coaches and general managers at the Scouting Combine.
"There aren't alot of guys at my height and weight with my speed," he said. He also believes his versatility will be a huge asset. "I can play inside or outside," he said. "I'm big enough to stop the run inside, but have lots of experience playing out in space." (Scout.com)
  • There are two main podiums on opposite sides of the press room, and Bradley had his side of the room almost to himself as the horde of media members flocked to the Calvin Johnson side of the room. (Scout.com)
  • Linebacker Stewart Bradley made the right career choice. In two months, the Nebraskan is likely to be selected in the draft and could be making a six-figure salary.
It's a bit more than he'd make if he had kept going on his previous path. At Highland High School in Utah, Bradley's greatest accomplishments came on the rugby field where he was part of a team that won three straight national championships and went 85-0.
But he never considered pursuing that as a career.
“It was a lot of fun because we were really good,” Bradley said. “Football is my first love and biggest love. But rugby is a fun sport, a physical sport.” (AP)

  • [NFL Draft] A "former NFL scout's" impression Brandon Jackson, whom he ranks as the 6th best running back: A quick and elusive runner with solid running skills. He is a zone runner who is at his best when working the edge on perimeter runs. He lacks the toughness and patience to be an effective runner between the tackles, but can be productive behind a strong line. His versatility, hands and open-field running skills make him a threat as a receiver out of the backfield. Brandon's overall skills fit in nicely in a West Coast offense. He is a borderline second-round pick. Comparable NFL player: Correll Buckhalter (SI.com)

"Carriker has turned in some terrific performances in training recently. If he runs faster than 4.9 seconds and performs well on the bench press, he will move into the first dozen choices."
